Have you ever thought about what was it that connects networks and computers to one another? Network cable along with the associated hardware (network hubs, switches, demarcation equipment) is the reason of computers' ability connect and transfer data across intranets (internal networks) and the internet. Today, network cabling is utilized in a variety of ways, not just for computer networking. It can be used to carry video for security camera systems as along with video for the cable television system and for AV (Audio/Visual) devices. Network cabling is also utilized for control cables in Building Maintenance Systems and Access Control Systems. There are several different types of cables that can be used for this function, including unshielded T-twisted pair, shielded pair fiber optic and coaxial. In certain cases, just one kind of cable is utilized in networks, or in some cases various types are used. Wireless networks are becoming more and more fashionable, but it is important to remember that the necessity of network cabling to connect wireless systems. There are two factors to make network cabling better than a wireless network It is more safe and reliable.

This is the type of cable that is used to connect various Ethernet networks. There are four pairs of wires inside the cable. There is a thick plastic separator that keeps each pair of wires separated from the line of cable. All pairs of wires is turned in a way that there will be no interference from other devices on the same networks. The wires are also twisted at different intervals so that they do not create interference between each other. If you are in an area where there's a great deal of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), like mechanical spaces one could opt to go with a shielded pair and have an outer shielding that adds an extra layer of protection against EMI. Categories 5e, 6A, as well as 7 are generally the best choices available today. Twisted pair cable is only available to 295' on the horizontal length. Twisted pair cable can be used for numerous applications. The standard station cabling used for computers as well as VOIP phones wireless access points network cameras, access control along with building and construction maintenance are but several. It is among the most reliable kinds of cables, and when it is utilized, network breakdowns are not as common as with other cables.

Fiber optic cable is typically used for backbone connections, though it is now being used more and more often as a station cable (think"FIOS"). When I say backbone cable, it connects Telecommunication Rooms within the same space to one another. The fiber optic cable has enormous broadband capabilities, which permit it to transport large quantities of data at super-fast speeds. Fiber optic cables can reach great distances(hundreds of meters) contrary to copper cable. Since these cables endure such a high workload and because the data is transferred over long distances there are numerous layers of protective coating on fibre optic cables. Fiber optic cables transmit light instead of electrical current. Fiber optic cable requires much less energy than high-speed copper does. In addition, fiber optic cable offers a good option for reliable, high-speed communications.

Cable paths should steer away from electrical lighting fixtures or additional sources that could cause EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference). Place cable paths in accessible locations of your ceiling to allow for future cable runs and for ease of maintenance. All paths must be located through corridors or hallways. cables enter individual rooms on continuous 90-degree turns. Install a firestop sleeves or putty on every penetration of the wall. Be aware when pulling cables to ensure not to cause them to bend beyond their bend radius. This could cause a problem during conducting tests. DO NOT tie cables to ceiling hangers or sprinkler pipes. They should be tied at minimum every 5' on horizontal runs, and even higher on vertical runs. J-hooks are required to be fastened to the concrete deck on top. Utilize velcro wraps at least every five feet or so once you've complete running cable to give your cable bundles an attractive finish.
